TOPIC: HELPING HAND:  A BIBLICAL CONCEPT
TEXT: GENESIS 2:18, 21-25.
I
NTRODUCTION:  Everything needed for man to live peaceful and purposeful life, has been written in the Bible. The Bible given to us by our creator contain the roadmap for the journey of life, instructions for our wellbeing, manual for good daily living, examples of those that follow and obey Him in the past, the harden heart and the disobedient ones, story of eternal life and eternal judgment Deut: 30:10-20. To mention a few. Having known these, I will like to welcome you to the December 2016 edition of Touch Me Special. The theme for this edition is HOME MINISTRY. As stated above, the Bible, God’s Holy book contain the basis and deep instructions needed for the running of homes and family in our world from the first generation till date. We need to open our understanding as we would be reminded of God’s instructions to our family and Home. The topic given to me is HELPING HAND: A BIBLICAL CONCEPT. Helping Hand here simply means that for every man that lives in this world, God has given a woman as help mate. GEN 2:18 Biblical concept tells us about the instructions given to men and women to run the affairs’ of the home as stated in the word of God.
WHY GOD CREATE MAN
God made man in His image for the purpose He purposed in His heart before creation. We will now look into some of this reasons for man’s creation.
1.       God made man a portrait of His likeness Gen 1:26
2.       To rule and Govern God’s creations Gen. 1:26, 9:2,6, Ps 8:6
3.       To show the glory of God 1 Cor. 11:7
4.       To be the head of creation
5.       To worship God
6.       To have relationship with God Gen 3:8-9.
7.       To do God’s will (to act on instruction from the creator.) Jer. 1:7, matt 28:20.
WHY GOD MADE WOMAN.
God the creator has plans in place for all His creation. He made woman for some great reasons. Some of the reasons are here for us to look into:
1.       For man not to be alone, God create woman to be with him
2.       Woman was created to be helpmeet for the man
3.       Woman was created because of man 1Cor. 11:9(not for animal or any other creature)
4.       For companionship
5.       For marriage (togetherness)
6.       Woman was created to join with man for procreation.
7.       Helping man in carrying out God’s instructions.
8.       For the running of the Home 1Tim 5:14.

THE NEED FOR AND AREA FOR HELPING HAND
1.       God said there is need for companionship. Man should not be alone.
2.       Man cannot be at Home while at work, two are better than one. Eccl. 4:9
3.       For outstanding fruitfulness
4.       For counselling
5.       Encouraging one another
6.       Standing by him in time of trouble
7.       For woman to see what man has not taken time to look at
8.       Taking care of the home.
9.       Pray with and for the man.
10.    Respect and Adoration
11.    For effective communication
12.    For financial assistance
13.    To be a sex partner that gives answer to every sexual urge as at when due.
14.    A woman needs wisdom to build her home even if the man is a type of Nabal
15.    the woman should help to promote an atmosphere filled with love
16.    both of them should make their home a haven of peace and conflict
17.    They must propagate God’s law and precept in their home. Their children also should grow up in the statutes.
18.    Both should join hands together to lift up the name and glory of the family
19.    Kitchen work is not for woman alone; man can also render an appreciative assistance.
Please note: No man picks a wife with his own understanding, neglecting God’s instruction, that would ever build and enjoy a happy home.
WHY MANY HOME FAILS TODAY.
Some women today ruin down their homes unknowingly due to their unruly behaviour in all they do. Some, instead of being helpmeet for the man, they become thorns in the flesh. A question before we go on. What is the place and position of Jesus and the Bible in your Home? These among other things are what some women have turn themselves into at home:
1.       They join their husband in doing Evil. Act 5
2.       They do wickedness in the name of their husband e.g. Jezebel 1 KG 21.
3.       Some women are lord of their husband.
4.       Women are agitating to be equal with men (do you know gender equality is not Biblical?)
5.       Love for money and worldly material beyond their reach
6.       Joining worldly society
7.       Running after money and neglecting their home
8.       Neglecting the family altar of prayer
9.       Struggling for position with men
10.    Divided idea in matters relating to the affairs of the whole family
11.    Having another adviser outside the home. Third party agenda
12.    Loving another man or woman (adultery)
13.    Transgender
14.    Seeing your spouse as your enemy
15.    They stand, no more in oneness but two in their home
16.    Murderer of husband as some men murdered their wife also
I know what your answer will be if many question were put on your table. But all I have for you now is that you take those problems that crumble your home to God. Remember He is the one that gave that woman to you, and to the woman God is the one that gave you to the man.
STRUCTURING YOUR HOME FOR HELPING HAND
v  Make Jesus Christ the cornerstone of your home Job 38:6, Isa 28:16, Eph 2:20, 1Peter 2:6
v  Make Holy ghost the mentor of your home. John 14:16,26; 16:7
v  Make the word of God, the manual by which your home will be guided Ps 119:9 -11
v  Perfect love: the language of a settled home. Romans 13:8-9, Mark 12:30-31
v  Transparency: the attitude of a godly home
v  Faithfulness, your garment of beautifying your home
v  Trust one another
v  Be good in endurance
v  Learn the way of encouragement
v  Togetherness with God always 1Cor 7:1
v  Working towards same goal
v  Corporate effort and success
v  Put your spouse first before others
v  Mutual understanding is needed for a happy home
v  Participatory effort (never fold your hand).
v  Protecting one another’s integrity
v  Practice reciprocity respect 1Peter 3:1, col 3:18
v  Manage your home according to your income base.
Many women in the scripture gives account of their stewardship as helpmeet to their husband. Sarah stays with Abraham, Rebecca with Isaac, Mary and Joseph stayed together based on God’s instruction. We also see women in the Bible that really work hard to destroy their husband, Esau’s wife, Jezebel, Delilah and Sapphira. What you will be to your spouse after this meeting depends on what you have decided to follow and how and what you have choose to become. May God make your home a haven of peace and comfort in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you all.
