the agony of not been raptured

Textual Source: Matt.25:1-13
Topic: The Regret and Agony of not been Raptured.
Introduction: Glory be to God in the Highest. This lecture would lead us into the purpose of rapture, and the regret of not making the rapture. It’s a lecture that we, the present days Christian needs. Let’s open our hearts to receive what the Lord is having for us. We shall be blessed in Jesus name. Amen.
What is rapture?
The rapture of the church is quite different from the second coming of the Lord. The second coming is after the seven years of tribulations when Antichrist would be the ruler of the world. Rapture is the taken away unaware of the righteous saints from the surface of the earth to meet the Lord Jesus in the cloud. Rapture is rising of the righteous dead to meet the Lord Jesus in the cloud at the sound of the archangel’s trump. Actually, the word “rapture” is not written in the Bible but there are explanations, passages and event described that buttress it.

When is rapture?
The time of rapture is not known yet. It might be any moment from now. There is virtually nothing that needed to happen in relation to the prophesies of Christ and Paul concerning the rapture that has not taken place. The rapture is now or never. Rapture is sooner than later. It will be sudden. It will come unaware. It will happen without much preparations. It’s an event that few among many will partake in it. It will cut up some selected selection. Waiting and longing for it is essential.

The purpose of rapture
1.      To receive saints to himself as promised Jn.14:13, Eph.5:27, 2Thess.2:1; 1Thess.4:17
2.      To resurrect the dead in Christ from among the wicked dead Philp.3:11,20,21; Rev.20:4-6, 1Thess.4:14, 16-17, 1Cor.15:21-23, 51-58
3.      To take saints to heaven to live in the New Jerusalem and receive rewards Jn.14:1-3; 2Cor.5:10; Heb.12:22-23; Rev.19:1-10; 21:9-10, 1Thess.3:13, Rev.21:1-5
4.      To change bodies of saints to immortality 1Cor.15:35-58, Phip.3:21
5.      To present saints before God Jude 24, Rev.19:1-10 Jn.14:1-3
6.      To make saints whole in body, soul and spirit Philp.3:21, 1Thess.4:16-17
7.      To receive the fruit of the early and later rain Jams.5:7, Jn.14:1-3
8.      To cause the saints to escape the tribulation of Revelation 6:1-19:21. Lk.21:36; Rev.4:1, 1Thess.4:16-17
9.      To remove the hinderer of lawlessness 2Thess.2:7
10.  To permit the revelation of the Antichrist 2Thess.2:7
Why all Christian will not go with rapture
1.      Many have turn away from God in their heart. Rom.1:28
2.      The practice of idolatry and fellowshipping with unbelievers.
3.      A zeal to lead others away from God and thus become a root of gall and bitterness to them. This is when some co called Christian introduced a Christian like him/herself to herbalist or occultism because he/she is having problem. Jh.4:14. If you have ever lead people to herbalist or occultism, you are not fit for the kingdom of God.
4.      Pride and presumptuous which cause one to laugh at sin and make light of evil
5.      Walking after the imaginations of the heart
6.      Living a life of self-gratification and sensual lust e.g. to add drunkenness to thirst
Qualifications for partakers in the Rapture
1.      You must be in Christ. 1Thess.4:16,17; 2Cor.5:17
2.      You must be for Christ. 1Cor.15:23; Gal.5:24
3.      You must be worthy. Lk.21:34-36
4.      You must be in the church or body of Christ. Eph.5:27; 1Cor.12:13, Eph.1:22,23; Col.1:18,24.
5.      You must be blessed and holy. Rev.20:4-6
6.      You must have done good. Jh.5:28,29.
7.      You must be in the way, the truth and the life. Jh.14:1-6
8.      Be purify and pure as God is pure 1Jh.3:2,3; 2Cor.7:1; Gal.5:16-24; Heb.12:14
9.      You must be without spot, wrinkle and blemish. Eph.5:27
10.  You must walk in the light as He (God) is in light. 1Jh.1:7; 2:6,9-11
The danger and consequence of not going with rapture
1.      There shall be no mercy that will be shown to them again from the Lord Heb.10:26-29
2.      Mercy, favour and grace of God shall be taken away from the earth.
3.      They shall face God’s fierce anger
4.      The Lord will lay upon them all the curses written in the Bible
5.      Wiliness to repent from past mistakes when is no room in the house of the lamb. Rev.21:27; 19:9
6.      Blot out their names from under heaven
7.      Separate them for punishment 2Pet 2:9-10
The likely things that the non-rapturous Christians would face
1.      Unexplainable fear
2.      Worries and sorrow
3.      Agony and regret of unrepented sins
4.      Eagerness to confess and repent from sins which are so difficult for them to forsake before rapture
5.      Shamefulness and reproach from the non-Christians who doesn’t have any preparation for rapture
6.      Eagerness to die for fear of shame
7.      There would be excess fasting and praying to seek the face of God when it is already too late. Ish.55:6
8.      There would be restriction in buying and selling
9.      Introduction and compulsion of the mark of the beast “666”
10.  Memory will keeps repeating the regret of missing the rapture
11.  Those who failed to go with rapture shall be under the cruel ruling of the Antichrist
12.  They are set to face what Jesus faced on the cross when He redeem us by His blood. This they would do for three and a half years, if they could.
Conclusion: There is no one that Is left behind that would not regret. The best option for an individual is to go with the rapture when the trump is sound. Sin is the major hindrance. Because all other hindrances were coded with the language of sin. Holiness, truth and righteousness is the only means by which you can be a partaker from this irreversible event after you might have surrender your life unto Jesus. Do you want to be rapturous? Kindly give your life to Jesus today and walk with him in total holiness, truth and righteousness. “When the saint go matching in, will you be among the numbered?” Repent now! And turn from your wicked ways.
Evangelist Olayinka J. Abiodun
