INSIGHT: The first thing foremost in the Bible is a name, the name is ‘God’ –“in the beginning God --’’ (Gen 1:1). The God is a trinity of Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
At the mention of his name everything begins – His name reveals the beginning of all things. It is at the mention of His name that we knew the 3’C’s - the Creator, Creatures and Creations. Without Him there could had been no heaven nor the earth – “In the beginning, God creates the heavens and the earth” Gen 1:1.
The verses 2 and 3 of Gen 1 reveals that at the mention and presence of the name of the triune God:-
- The amoeba earth, got shape.
- The void life/earth, got filled with good things.
- The earth that was covered with darkness, was illuminated.
- The earth that was covered with waters, got settled.
- The earth that has no space for Spirit of God was filled with His Word and Spirit.
- The invisible becomes visible
- The unknown becomes known
- The unseen becomes clearly seen. “At the mention of His name”.
At this juncture, let’s first simplify the key words of the subject titles, for further explanation.
“At the mention of His name”. What is Name, Power, Authority and Demons?
NAME:  Dictionary puts it as (i) any noun word or phrase which indicates a particular person, place, class or thing. (ii) A word that can be used to refer to a person, animal, place, thing, phenomenon, substance or an idea. In clear term: Name is a language unit by which a person, animal, place, thing, class, idea, substance, etc. is known.
POWER: Dictionary puts it as Capability or Influence, Physical force or Strength
AUTHORITY: Means the power to enforce rules; Power to give orders; Persons in command.
DEMONS: An evil spirit; A fallen angel; Satanic divinity; A false god; someone of diabolical ability.
To expatiate and do justify to the subject matters, we shall discuss on
1.) The person and Personality of Jesus Christ.
2.) The works of Jesus Christ
Study 1 Topic: JESUS: HIS NAME AND POWER (THE PERSON AND PERSONALITY OF JESUS CHRIST)
Study Text: Mt 22:41-46
Intro: This topic was chosen to distinguish the “Jesus” we want to discuss. The name “Jesus” is a common Jewish name of the New Testament, and among the people of Israel of the Old Testament.
‘Jesus’ in Greek word is an equivalent to the Hebrew words like Joshua, Hoshea, Jehosua, Jeshua to mention a few. (Num. 13:8, 16; 1Chro 7:27. Ezra 2:6, 36; 1Chro 24:11; 2Chro 31:15 ; Neh. 7:7, 11; Act 2:35; Heb.4:8) Example of another ‘Jesus’ from the N. T. is  Justus, who is a Jewish Christian (Col 4:11). Even many are called or named ‘Jesus’ in different places of the world till date. The name means “Yahweh/Jehovah is our Saviour” or “Salvation is of the Lord God”
At the mention of His name “Jesus of Nazareth” (Jn. 18:7; Lk. 18:37), or “Jesus son of David” (Luke 18:38-39; Mat 9:27), or “Jesus Christ” (Heb.13:8) or “In the name of Jesus Christ” (Ph.2:10), Miracles must happen, salvation must take place, every kneel must bow, etc. ♫song. At the mention of your names♫
Whom is this Jesus? This Jesus is the center of the whole substance and strength of the Bible. The 66 books of the Bible points and speaks of Him.
This ‘Jesus’ is the sole and whole substance and strength of Christianity. The beginning and the end of the Christian faith and Christian life is based on the person and works of Jesus Christ. If we take away the Name and Person of this Jesus from Christianity, you have almost nothing.
Like this Jesus child in Mt. 16:13-17 where He tested His disciples on whom they taught He was, so He does to a particular group of the Pharisee (the highest order of professors of that time) in our study text. He asked of them a question of His Person & Personalities upon their wealth of knowledge in the Old Testament books, but alas! Their knowledge and understanding failed them. (vs.46). Read. (1Cor 1:18-21, 25-27; 2:6-8, 10-14).
At this juncture, may I put the question across to you, sir/ma, “what think ye of Christ” (vs.42)
- What you think of him conditions you unto life or Death Lk. 23:39-43
- What you think of Him conditions your eternity. Jn.3:16, 18;
- What you think of Him condition your freedom from Satanic/Demonic bondage(s).
- What you think of him condition you into understanding of God Jn.5:37,45-47;
- What you think of him condition your faith Jn.6:66-69.
- What you think of him condition how you enjoy this life – He’s life giver. Jn.9:4-7; 11:25; 6:9-13
Who is this Jesus? In answering He said and was recorded in the bible that He is the “Son of man” (Jn.6:53,62; Mt 8:20; 12:8, 32, 40; Mk 8:31, 2:10) and the “Son of God” (Jn. 1:34, 49; 20:31).
Many people were unable to comprehend this because they knew not but thought they know as much (such were the Sanhedrin) Mk 4:11-12; Mt 13:14-17. They are not of the Spirit; it takes a spirit man to understand the mysteries of God (1Cor. 3:18-20; 1:18-21). In nutshell this Jesus is God-Man.
A – HIS NAME: The names/tittles of this ‘Jesus’ as recorded in the N.T of the Bible speaks a lot of who He was – His person / personalities;
1. Jesus: The name of His humiliation. His earthy name under which he was born lived and died.
2. Christ/Messiah: This simply mean Anointed one; The official tittle of the sort of God as King (Lk. 1:31-33), Prophet (Act 3:22-23), Priest (Heb. 4:14-15)
3. Son of God: This speaks of His divine and eternal position – the embodiment of God.
4. Son of Man: This stands for the eternal God that brought God to the mankind in human form and nature.
5. Emmanuel: This means ‘God with us’ – emphasizing the ‘Son of man.
6. Lord: This is the title of His deity, that of His authority and ownership, which is an indication of His being all that which make God to be God. - All the names that reflects God as God in the Old Testament, i.e. His personal names such as Yahweh/ Elohim/I am/Jehovah/Adonai are compounded into that one name ‘Lord’
7. Son of David: His earthly title as regards Davidic covenant
8. The Son of the highest: The title of His pre-eminence
9. The Second man: Means there’s only one man before His incarnation, which is Adam.
10. The Last Adam: Means there can no any other incarnated man after Him.
11. Master /Rabbi /Rabboni: Means Teacher or Instructor
12. Jesus Christ / Christ Jesus: This is the combination of His personal and official titles.
B – JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD (Mt 22:43-45) the word ‘Son of God’ is used in the Bible for the following:
1. Adam because he came to existence by the creative activity of God (Lk 3:38)
2. Angels because they are created by God (Job 38:7; 1:6; 2:1)
3. The Nation of Israel they are God’s donated nation (Ex 4:22-23).
4. The Christians they are God’s redeemed (Jn. 1:12; Gal. 4:5)
5. Messiah via Davidic throne (Ps 89:2-4; Is 9:6-7; 2Sam 7:15-17)
For clarity sake, Jesus is the Messiah (v2), does not mean He became the Son of God in Messianic sense or through being the Messiah, rather, He became the Messiah because He was already the pre-existence Son of God. (Jn.1:29-34 Lk 1:34-35).
Jesus being the Son of God does not mean that He was inferior to the Father (Col. 2:9), but equal in the sense that;
1. He possesses the qualities/ properties of God.
a. Pre-existed and self-existence (Jn. 1:1:8:58; 17:5; Col. 1:15,17)
b. Immutability – Unchangeable (Heb. 13:8; 1:12; Ps. 102:24-27)
c. Holy/Sinlessness Jn. 8:46 (Isi. 53:9; 2Cor. 5:21); Heb. 4:15; 7:26; 1Jn. 3:5; 1Pet. 2:22.
d. Righteous Rm. 1:17; Heb.1: 8-9
e. Everlasting/Eternal. Gen1:1(Jn. 1:1-2); Rev. 1:18
2. He Possesses Divine attributes:
a. He is omnipotent (Mt. 28:18; Ph. 2:10-11) He has power over everything created.
  b. He is Omnipresence (Jn. 11:13-15; Mk. 14:13-16)
c. He is Omniscience: He has the overall knowledge of everything at the same time.
C. JESUS AS THE ‘SON OF MAN’ (Gal 4:4-7; Dan. 7:13-14).
As the son of God, who has existed with the father from eternity, He willingly became man to fulfill His Father’s purpose for the salvation of man and to conquer evils /Satan – SIN (Rm.8:3; Heb.2:14,15 1Jn. 3:8).
From the many names and titles that He has, the “Son of man” was the title that our Lord Jesus, mostly and commonly uses for Himself, just to make people think carefully about who He is, and what His earthly mission is all about (Jn. 12:34; 13:31-32).
“Son of man” is rooted in the vision that Daniel received in that Chapter 7 of his book, whereby the person like a son of man was empowered with the power of kingdom of God, to share the kingdom with His people. Truly the kingdom of God came into the world of mankind through Christ, to whom the vision was ascribed. Thus the sayings in Mt. 19:28; 25:31-34.

The Life of ‘Jesus’ on earth (Mt. 1:18-25 ; Lk.1:28-38): At the fullness of time, the eternal ‘Son of God’ incarnated and was born at Bethlehem, by a virgin Called Mary, who was“the highly favoured of the Lord God” (Lk. 1:28,30), who had at that time betrothed to Joseph.
‘Jesus’ who is the embodiment of God, who had existed with God from all eternity (Col. 1:15-17; Jn. 1:1), willingly sacrificed the supreme glory of heaven, took the place of a servant, came to this world as a man – In the physical form of human being and nature 1Cor. 15:47. The only difference here is that His human nature is not the one that had been infected by sin, but of the divine nature. (Lk. 1:31-35; Mt. 1:18, 20, 25)
“Jesus” the ‘Son of God’ became the ‘Son of man’ in order to reveal God to the mankind (Jn. 1:18 ; 6:46 ;1Jn. 4:9), and to become the perfect saviour of mankind (Mt. 1:20-21; Gal. 4:4,5).
As human being This Jesus as human being;
1. He had human parentage and lineage.
2. He developed as human being in Stature, Wisdom & Knowledge
3. He had man appearance while living, even till death (Ph. 12:7-8; 1Tim. 2:5), and at His resurrection and ascension (Jn. 20:15-17; Lk. 24:13-15, 28-31a; Jn. 20:26-27; 21:1, 15:5-7; Act. 1:1-3,9-11).
4. He was a complete man – Possesses Body, Soul & Spirit.
5. He had human limitations – He also faced challenges – He experienced all that which man do experience but in all of it, He overcame (Heb. 2:18; 4:15).
6. He died – “gave up the ghost” Jn. 19:30; Lk. 23:46. Truly He died as a man, but He Resurrected, Ascended into His heavenly glory, doing the work of the High Priest for the believers and He is coming back to take us home. (Act. 1:11 cf. Jn. 14:1-3).
REASONS FOR HIS INCARNATION
1. To reveal the invisible Father/God to mankind Jn. 1:18.
2. To fulfill all the age-long prophecies e.g. Gen 3:15; Is. 7:14; 53:5,7,9
3. To be a sacrifice for our sins and thereby destroys the works of Satan. 1Jn. 3:5,8 2Cor. 5:19,21; 1Cor. 15:3-4; 1Pet. 2:24.
4. To be the believers’/redeemers’ role-model. 1Pet. 2:21
5. To become the redeemer’s High Priest Heb. 6:20; 2:17
6. To be the first of and the head of the new creation Heb. 2:10-11; Rev 21:3-5;19:7-9
7. To prepare the redeemed for the eternity 1Cor. 15:50; Jn. 3:3,5.
God the Father had exalted this ‘Jesus’ (Christ) by raising Him from the dead, taking Him away to heaven, and sitting Him at His right hand, and will be returning from that place of honor, to judge both the living and the dead at the end of the age. Brethren where will you want to be placed on that day, is it ‘Heaven or Hell, Life eternal or the place of everlasting groaning?
Believe in the person and works of this “Jesus” and be saved, He is the Truth, the Life and the only Way to Heaven and Eternal Life.

STUDY 2
TOPIC: JESUS AND AUTHORITY OVER DEMON (THE MANIFESTATION OF HIS POWER)
Study text: Mt. 12:22-29
Main Text: Is. 49:24, 25; 1Jn. 3:8
In the previous lesson we learnt about the person of our ‘Jesus’ – His God-Man being. In this study we want to discuss on the manifestation of His power – His work as God-Man.
Both the Old and New Testament speaks of the reality of the spirit world. In the realm of this unseen world are numerous spirits being commonly called angels. Some are good some are bad. The good ones are with God, and the evil ones with Satan.
Gen 1:1 reveals that God creates the heaven first, followed by the earth. The scholars said that something went wrong in that first creation thus the second one (cf. Isi. 14:12-17; 8:12-18).
Who is Satan? Satan is a Hebrew word of ‘adversary’ – he is the adversary of God, the people of God and all that is good. It was that revolt that classified the Unseen/Spirit being called Angel into two, of good and evil. The good ones are those that maintain their place of honour, while the other ones are known as the ‘fallen angels’. (Jude. 9:2 Pet. 2:4).
Satan is the Overseer/Leader of those fallen angels (Job 1:6-7). The name given to Satan in the Scriptures speaks much about his person and his works, he was called ‘the Devil’ (1Jn. 3:8; Jn. 8:44), ‘Beelzebub’ (Mt. 12:24; Mk. 3:22), ‘prince of this world’ (Jn. 14:30; 16:11), ‘the god of this world’ (1Cor. 4:4). ‘prince of the power of the air’ (Eph. 2:2), ‘Accuser of the brethren’ (Rev. 12:10), ‘the Evil one’ (1Jn 2:13,14; Eph. 6:16), ‘the Powerful’ (Mt. 12:29).
Many people are of the opinion that he Satan is in one way the equal of God, in that God is the good God whole Satan is the evil one. Truly Satan is the evil one even the chief, but he is not more than an angelic being created by God, God is God (Isi. 44:6; 41:4; Rev. 1:8; 22:13). Satan remain under the authority and rule of God, and cannot go beyond the limits allowed (Job.1:12; 2:6 e.g. Zech. 3:1-2).
Daemon or Demon: This were the ‘fallen angels’ or the Satanic forces. English dictionary called them a lesser deity/divinity between men and gods.
In the Bible, they are referred to as ‘the Angels that kept not their first estate’, ‘the Fallen angels’, ‘the Unclean Spirit’, ‘Principalities’, ‘Powers’, ‘Rulers of the darkness’, ‘Rulers of this world’, ‘Spiritual wickedness’, ‘Devils’ etc. (Eph. 6:12; Mt. 10:1; 8:16; 12:3; Jude 6:2 2Pet. 2:4).
They have a certain power over man’s soul and bodies – They can possess a man and man can possess them. Anyone under their influence is known as Demoniac.
During the days of our Lord Jesus Christ, the demoniacs are frequently distinguished from those who are afflicted from ordinary body maladies – ailment/illness/disease/sickness (e.g. Mt. 8:28; Lk. 17:12; Jn. 5:2-3).
The Demons do inflict men with Dumbness (Mt. 9:32; Mk. 9:17) Blindness (Mt. 12:22; 2Cor. 4:4; 3:14), Insanity (Mk.5:1), Sickness/illness (Mt. 4:24) Inflictions (Lk.6:18) and so on. They even go to the extent of taking over and controlling the actions, thoughts and words of a man (e.g. Acts 19:15; Lk. 8:27; Mk. 5:2-5). Demons are the spiritual powers behind the idolatries (1Cor. 10:20 cf. Deut. 32:16-17).
Jesus authority over Satan & Demons: As we have learnt that from age-long, Satan and Demons were always at work to rubbish and destroy the works of God in all ramification, thus, Jesus appeared to destroy the works of Satan and Demons which He had done (1Jn. 3:8).
In all the gospel books of the Bible are the records of how Jesus exercise or proof His authority and power over Satan (Mt. 4:10) and the demons. Few examples are the Healing of diverse of sickness, diseases and even those oppressed by demons (Lk. 6:17-19; Mt. 4:23,24; 12:22; Mk. 1:30-34) Rebuking and casting out of the demons (Mt. 9:32-33; Mk. 1:23-27; Mt. 8:28-32; Lk. 6:10) Forgiveness of sin (Mt. 9:2,5-8; Mk. 2:3-5,9-12; Lk. 5:24-25; 23:34) over the death (Lk. 6:12-16; Mt. 9:23-25; Jn. 11:38-44).
Jesus had by His death and resurrection cast Satan into the present chain (Jn. 12:31-33) and at His return shall put him, his demon and the demoniac in the everlasting lake of fire (Mt. 8:29; 25:41)
Jesus the ‘Son of man’ had by the authority of the cross and His resurrection, bind the strong man (cf. Mt. 12:29) and had thereby receive a name that was far and above, and had thereby got exalted into His heavenly glory (Ph. 2:7-11). That authority he had given to us, we His followers, to be using (Mt. 28:18,19).
The study text teaches that as someone, who want to be living high and above Satanic Sin, and Demonic forces as Jesus did, we need to note that Jesus teaches in our study text that, we cannot be among them and be able to condemn them (Mt.12:25-26), which literally means that, we just have to totally get out of them and remain holy as He is, so as to maintain the power and authority. Isi.52:11; 2Cor. 2:14-18. Secondly, we must know whom we are and what we are carrying within (Mt.12:28-29), Jesus knew that of Himself. Lk. 4:14,18; 19. We are carrying the Anointed and the Anointing. 1Jn. 4:4.
Thirdly, let’s yield to the admonition in epistle to the Ephesus in Chapter 6:10-18
Lastly, His anointing, His blood, His cross, His word is powerful to save and to deliver, but His name is the most powerful because at the mention of His name – ‘the name of the Lord Jesus Christ’, the name of ‘authority and power’ that the heavens, earth, under-earth, waters, and under-waters and everything therein cannot resist.
Song: His name is higher, than any other names, His name is Jesus, His name is Lord…
Because you are carrying the anointing of the name, no evil shall be able to touch you and your everything In Jesus Name. Stay lifted and Blessed.

TOPIC: WHEN CHRIST BECAME THE LORD.
MATT 16:13-19, JOHN 20:24-29, LK 1:39-45, ACTS  9.
All glory to my Father in heaven that have by His infinite mercy given unto us the great opportunity to witness this edition of touch me special. Our theme here in this edition is about all we can learn about the name of our Lord Jesus. One must not go out of here, taking lightly these lessons, this will surely amount to negligence and non-charlatan attitude towards our journey to heaven and you all know how dangerous it is to take the name of our Lord Jesus for granted. Heb. 6:1-12. So I am imploring us to make these teachings a part of our daily living.
Our topic for this session is when CHRIST became the LORD. Let’s start by taking note of the meaning of the name CHRIST and the term LORD. The word Christ was found only in the New Testament meaning the expected deliverer. The word used in place of Christ in the Old Testament is Messiah having the same meaning. Cambridge dictionary define Messiah as the leader who is believed to have the power to solve the problem of the whole world. Messiah is Hebrew word while Christ a Greek word with the same meaning. I copied this for you to read (The Messiah is the same person as "the seed of the woman" (Gen. 3:15), "the seed of Abraham" (Gen. 22:18), the "Prophet like unto Moses" (Deut. 18:15), "the priest after the order of Melchizedek" (Ps. 110:4), "the rod out of the stem of Jesse" (Isa. 11:1, 10), the "Immanuel," the virgin's son (Isa. 7:14), "the branch of Jehovah" (Isa. 4:2), and "the messenger of the covenant" (Mal. 3:1). This is he "of whom Moses in the law and the prophets did write." The Old Testament Scripture is full of prophetic declarations regarding the Great Deliverer and the work he was to accomplish. Jesus the Christ is Jesus the Great Deliverer, the Anointed One, the Saviour of men. This name denotes that Jesus was divinely appointed, commissioned, and accredited as the Saviour of men (Heb. 5:4; Isa. 11:2-4; 49:6; John 5:37; Acts 2:22) Now, LORD having gaining some understanding of the status of the one that we want to regard to as our Lord. What is Lordship? Lord is an appellation for a person or deity who has total authority, control or power over others acting like a master, a chief or a ruler. But wait! A research into many international Dictionaries defines the word as a Judeo-Christian term referring to their God. For this reason, we shall now focus fully on our biblical term regarding Lordship Mal 1:6-14. I found about 6751 verses where the word lord is used in the Bible. The word lord is use in the bible to at times refers to earthly masters or husband, but in reality many words translated Lord in the Bible refers to God or Jesus Christ. John 14:28.
JESUS CHRIST THE LORD. NOW WE SHALL LOOK INTO THIS IN THREE WAYS:-
1. When Christ came to die for the sin of man.
2. When you accept him as your Lord.
3. When God’s kingdom shall fully be established.
In the course of this teaching, we must try to personally see into our Christian lives so that we can decide to be deeply rooted in Him Eph.3:17, Col.2:17.
When Christ came to die for the sins of all:- His first step into the kingship of the universe was when He selflessly responded to the call of God to bear the sins of the world. Rev 5:1 ff immediately after the Lord God completes the works of creation. A drama ensued. In that scene, Lucifer the morning star in his bids to overthrown God started a campaign in heaven and some angels turn to his side. He was defeated in the battle, no more place for the rebel and the angels that followed him in heaven. They were drove out of heaven into the world. Rev 12:7-12. And the following happened.
1. All men are condemned through sin. Rom 3:9-19, 23.
2. The devil takes over the affairs of the world from man Gen 3:1
3. Curses reign on the land as a whole.
4. Man sees one another as fierce enemy.
5. Killing and maiming everywhere
6. The creator is long forgotten.
7. Peace was lost in the world
8. No knowledge about God
9. God gave the law to Israel
10. Israel continued to break the law of God.
11. There is a need for a saviour.
12. Then Jesus came in the form of a man
13. He died for the sins of the world.
The saviour will have to leave His throne in heaven and come in form of a man to die for the sins of the world. He did this to bring salvation unto his own. Isa 59:16. Then He became the King of kings and Lord of lords. 1Tim 1:16.
ACCEPTING HIM AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR. Salvation of every man’s soul is personal. Some gathering called church today have some practices of confessing salvation on behave of an infant. In Adam all men became sinners. Rom.5:12-21, 1 Cor.15:12-25. For Christ to become your Lord you will have to personally hand over your life to Him in order to have all authority in your life.
Anyone that denied Christ will have to be under the rule of the evil ones. And these shall be their lots.
i. They become Gods enemy: - these ones can no longer relate with their creator, therefore becoming unfamiliar to the things of God. Eph.4:18
ii. They lack godliness: - all they do will have a form of godliness but shall deny its power thereof.
iii. Violent way of living. Gen 4:8
iv. They always lack contentment.
v. Self is their target in all they do
vi. They become slave to their own lust and self will ask Apostle Paul Rom 7:7-24.
vii. They live in the fear of the unknown.
viii. They see every one as their supposed enemy.
ix.   They live their life in wroth or anger always. Gen 4:6
x. Their joy is always shot.
xi. All they gather in their life are gone after they died.
xii. To such the second death awaits them.
Now it must be said to everyone, believer or unbeliever that we need to work out our salvation by coming to Christ and let Him be our Lord.
When Christ become the Lord of ones live. It is said that:-
1. You are bought with a price 1Cor 6:20, 1Cor 7:23.
2. You become anew or you put on the new man 2Cor 5:17, Eph 2:15, 4:24, Col 3:10
3. Redeemed by Christ. Ga 3:13; Heb 9:12; 1Pe 1:18-19.

For you to make Christ the Lord of your life. You must become a child of God by taking the steps of salvation.
a. You must be born of water and of the spirit John 3:3
b. Be filled with the spirit Ex 31:3, Acts.2:4, Eph.5:18.
c. Be a student of the Bible. Acts 11:26.
d. Take your cross daily and walk with Him. Matt 10:38, 16:24.

g. Fellowship with the brethren. Heb.10:25
h. Be obedient to His commandments. 1Sam.15:22-23
i. You must always remember that this world is not our home.
Now that you make Christ the Lord of your life. You must take note of the fact that you cannot live your life anyhow. These are some of what you must know and apply to your daily living.
1. You must be committed to the things of God.
2. Selfless in all things
3. You must become a light bearer of the light of God to others
4. Keep His word in your heart. Psalm 119:9-11
5. Live righteously pr 14:34
6. Make holiness your watch-word.
7. Love others as your self 1Cor 13:1ff, Rom 13:8-14.
8. Live in peace anywhere you find yourself. Heb. 12:14
9. Put on the Christian virtues. Eph. 4:22-32.
Christ shall reign as the Lord and king forever. This is the last part of this lecture, please take note that the Lord God had made Jesus Christ the judge of all and all men shall stand before him. Rev 1:7.
1. This world shall come to an end when it is not expected. Matt 24:3-14, 1Tess 5:1-3.
2. The trumpet of the Lord shall sound when men are too busy to hear the sound of the trump of God. 1Cor 15:50-53.
3. This world shall be consumed with fire. 2Peter 3:10-12.
4. The end of everything shall come.
5. The world shall come before Jesus to be judged. The saviour whom they had once rejected. 2Cor 5:10, ROM 14:10, matt 25:31-46.
Conclusion: There is an admonition in 2Peter 3:12 that since we know that this world is not going to endure (stand for ever) we need to make sure that we walk according to the ordinances of God through Jesus Christ so that we might be counted worthy of His kingdom when He comes to take His own. When Christ become the Lord, you are no longer the master of your Life. You must live your live according to the Bible the word of God.

TOPIC: The Prayer Life of Jesus Christ and The Teachings Thereof
TEXT: MATT 4:1-4, 14:23, 26:36-46, VS 53 LK 11:1-4.
INTRO: The prayer life of our master Jesus is our focus in this lesson. We will be on to learn from this paper, how Our Lord prayed, why he prayed and how effective was the prayer life and what make his prayer life a distinct and unique. Now, what is prayer? Prayer is communicating with God our creator. It is the expression of the desire of the heart and soul to God. In Christendom, the role of prayer cannot be over emphasize when we say it is very important to pray every day and every time. Jesus Christ is the saviour of the world, Lk 2:8-11, He is God in man, the word of God. Jn 1:1-14.
Why will Jesus in all His mightiness still pray?
It is very hard to be in the flesh and not succumb to sin. Rom 7:7-25.
He came for a task that is most difficult in the universe since the beginning of all things Rev 5.
He prayed to connect with the throne of God in heaven.
To fulfill the desire of God the father, thy will be done matt 26:42.
The Bible makes it clear that he prays to the ONE who can deliver Him. Heb.5:7.
The prayer life of our Lord is worthy of all attention because He prayed in such a way that we can say it that His prayer life is the only perfect one for emulation.
How he prayED?
He gives all Glory to God. John 11:41-42.
He prays with certainty and assurance in His heart.
He prays to God the father.
He prays with love(AGAPE) in His heart.
Never misuse his power. Compare these scenarios in the Bible matt 26:53, Lk 9:51-56 and 2king 1:10&12.
He prayed in the spirit and not in the flesh.
Not for revenge of evil done against Him but that even His enemy might be deliver from their sins.
He prays most time alone in communion with His father.
Away from distraction. i. e on a mountain away from many that many disturb His prayer time. Take note of this, in our days’ prayer mountain has turned to a den of thief. Lk 19:45-48.
Why His prayer life is perfect and distinct.
He prayed with perfect heart to God.
He lived a Holy, sinless and perfect life.
He prayed to deliver others.
He offered his life as an atonement for the sins he never committed; oh what a perfect saviour of mankind?
He prays with the will of the father flowing in his mind.
My Lord never pays evil with evil.
He prayed for those that crucified Him.
In His Prayer He teach His follower to pray to God in his name.
When the disciples ask Him how to pray? He pointed them to God as the father. Our father who at in heaven……
Why our prayer life is questionable today.
We pray with sinful mind.
Quick to pray a prayer of revenge. Lk 9:54.
Lack of Love.
We don’t mind the deliverance of others. If they perish they perish. Matt 28:18-20. Hymn: Rescue the perishing.
With selfish motives.
We don’t listen to God.
We have little time to pray.
Selling of prayer in our churches.
Examples of men that their prayer life worth emulation in the Bible:
Cornelius Acts 10:1-6.
Abraham
Jacob
Peter and John Acts 3:1ff
The lessons:
1. His holy life in prayer.
2. His love for everyone.
3. He wished that the will of God prevail in His prayer.
4. A thankful heart to God.
5. His prayer points others to God.
6. He preaches the kingdom ethics to others in His prayer life.
7. Learn to do good unto others.
8. Biblical applications in our prayer.
9. Pray in the Spirit.
10. To be like Him is the only reason we can be called a Christian.
Concl: We can be perfect in our prayer life if we take after our master in the way we pray. Let it be known that the Lord God cannot answer all our prayer because we pray to certify our lust and not the will of God. May the Holy Ghost continue to teach us how to pray as we journey through this world. Amen.

Topic: The name above all names
Textual Source: 1Kings.13:2; Philpians.2:9.
Introduction: It’s my pleasure to welcome you once again to this program. Having believed your coming here would not be in vain, I would like everyone to be attentive, not only that, to also prepare himself from receiving from the Lord Jesus Christ. The importance in the name of Jesus is what we are about to emphasis on. By name we get connected, by name we engage and disengaged. These and more are the reasons why we need to write, tell, say, talk and discuss about the name of Jesus. Majority of Christian do not know how the name of Jesus was given and to what purpose. The name of Jesus is more than to be called, it’s more than to be used as part of or for items of prayer. I will advise someone to sit quietly secluded, having ready to hear the audible voice of God, then, let the ministration begins. This I say, as a prophet of God, I open your spiritual understanding in the name of Jesus. I give you a large heart to accommodate spiritual matters in the name of Jesus. And I also breath upon you, receive the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus. Amen. (I would prefer if you can have these digested before we proceed. Isaiah.61:1-6, 42:5-8, 9:6,7.) You are blessed.
Food for thought: Name is like a seed that is seeded into the life of an individual. When its grows, it fused up into the life of the bearer, to the extent that it becomes uneasy to separate the name from the personality of the bearer. It is hard to see people whose name and personality does not go with each other.

24. God works on name in dealing with people. Gen.17:5.

When and how the name Jesus was given?
The name Jesus shares the same meaning with the Hebrew name called Joshua or Jehoshua. The name Joshua was originally Hoshea Num.13:8,16 but changed by Moses into Jehoshua Num.13:16; 1Chr.7:27. After the exile, it assumed the form Jeshua where the Greek form Jesus emanated. Jesus is the Greek form of the name Joshua. The name Joshua and Jesus signifies saviour, or Jehovah saves. There are many Joshua in the old Testament. Among them was the notable Joshua who led the children of Israel into the promised land after the demise of Moses the servant of God. The high priest in Ezra’s time was named Joshua or Jeshua. Joshua a governor. 2Kg.23:8. (note: in two places in the new testament, the name Jesus was used in referring to Joshua the son of Nun who led the children of Israel into the promised land. Act.7:45, Heb.4:8.)
Jesus was not an uncommon name among the Jews. There are many people that bears the name Jesus in the New Testament. Bar-jesus Act.13:6; Jesus the Justus Col.4:11.
Jesu was the common name of the saviour while Christ meaning the Anointed differentiate him from other Jesus. Christ is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Messiah, the consecrated or the anointed one. Throughout the entire Bible, there is no one which two or these three name was trusted upon. Jesus the Messiah is the same as Jesus Christ. Jesus mean saviour while Christ or Messiah means the anointed one.
The word Messiah first appear in the Bible in Dan.9:25 & 26, while the name Jesus (referring to him) was first announced by angel in Mat.1:21. Jesus would not be the first person in the Bible which the Angel of the Lord would announced his name before his birth. There are notable biblical characters whose name were announced by the angel of the Lord before their birth. John the Baptist Lk.1:13; Samson (Nazarite)Jug.13:12; Josiah 1Kg.13:2. What differentiate him from these three characters is that Josiah was to sit upon the throne of David to destroy an altar, Samson was to deliver Israel from the bondage of the Philistine, John was to be the forerunner of the Saviour while Jesus was to be the saviour of the world.
Jesus was given this name because of the nature of the work he would do here on earth. We actually don’t know what was used to be the name of Jesus in heaven before coming to the world, but the Bible refereed to him as the WORD OF GOD, MEANING, he is the utterance or utterances of God. By the word, God created the heaven and the earth thereof. There is nothing that was made in heaven and on heath with the use of the word from God. This is one the thing that made the uniqueness of Jesus. Jh.1:1ff.
Mary received the message from the angel of the Lord that was sent to her. At birth. He was named Jesus according to the message the mother had received. Jesus was not a human neither a super human but he became God in man. This is quite different from been a human or super human. Jesus was more than a prophet; he was more than a king but he is God in the flesh.
Before his birth, Jesus was not known as Jesus to man. He was being referred to as the angel of the Lord Gen.16:10, angel of His presence Isa.63:9, the son of God, Dan., the Holy one of Israel, the Messiah among other.
Revelations.5:1ff gave us understanding to know what happened in heaven before Christ described to come to save mankind. In this revelation of John, Jesus was not being called Jesus but was been referred to as the root of David. Immediately he came to the word, the reason for the name Jesus on him began to manifest. The reason was because, he was not bearing that name for fun, its meant for purpose and for propose to be fulfilled.  God was interested that Jesus would be Jesus. Unlike the case of Abram and Jacob. Although, both of them were very close with god when they were alive but god was not interested in their names.
The actions of Jesus Christ were in fulfilment and in the purpose of his name. he was sent to save mankind from their sins. John the Baptist, his fore runner, acknowledged the purpose of his coming to the world. He spoke and prophesied to people about the coming Messiah. At a particular time in his ministry when people were confused about his purpose on earth. He made them known he was not the Messiah but he described how the Messiah look like and the task ahead of him.
After the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The name Jesus became the household name both in heaven and on earth. All authorities and power were to be subjected to the name of Jesus. Why was that so? The reason was because the bearer of that name accomplish what no one has ever accomplished. He singlehandedly fought death 1Cor.15:54, 2Cor.1:10, grave, sin, hell and Satan and he defeated them1Cor.15:57. Lk.23:43, Eph.4:7-10, Heb.2:14-15; 1Pet.4:6, Ps.16:10. He did what no one has ever done. That is why his name became the household name in heaven and on earth. There is nothing to be done in heaven without his name. there is nothing to be done on earth without his name. the name Jesus was given to deliver and to save; it later became household name when he saved, delivered and conquered.
Ability of his name: Jesus Christ (Messiah)
As the name Jesus Christ or the Messiah became the household name in heaven and on earth. To what extent can this name work or what can it do, or of what benefit is this name to mankind and the inhabitant of heaven?
1. Salvation can be obtained by his name

Demon and the name of Jesus
At the mention of the name of Jesus, demons must bow, tremble, scatter, disappear and obey. I have said it earlier that the name Jesus has become household name in heaven and on earth. There is no name of any demon that becomes household name. their names were not recognized in heaven. Whatsoever is not recognized in heaven will never have basis on earth.
There is no demon that can withstand the name of Jesus’s power and authority. There are cases in the Bible where the name of Jesus was used to cast out demons. Demons were the fallen angels that work with Satan the devil. But in conformity of their effort, they tremble at the mention of the name of Jesus.
Biblical stories were demon obeyed and trembled at the presence or mentioning of the name of Jesus.

Introduction: Praise unto the holy One of Israel, the adorable, the excellency, the merciful, God in three persons and the blessed, as He has counted us to be among the living today in peace and joy. The wonders of Jesus in our live are innumerable. It is expected of us to appreciate the goodness of God in our live and to give Him an endless praise.
We are having a redefined lecture in this season. I also believe it will bear good fruit in our live in Jesus name. The lecture is themed “FREE INDEED”. I believe as we proceed in this lecture, the Lord will give every one of us a total freedom in Jesus name.

The Law Romans 2:12-16; 7:7-14
Law is the guardian and principle of human character, restrainer and warner. [2] The law is reveal to make a proper correction. [3] The law prescribes and stipulate what someone can do. [4] The word ‘Law’ is used severally in the holy scripture. [5] Law is the fundamental and back up before authority could be established. [6] The law does not disappoint the righteous but [7] it is an abominable to sinner.
When we are talking about the law from the Holy scripture, it talks about the so dearly love of God. It is what God want from the depth of His heart towards every one under His sovereign rule. Law cannot work for someone who is not under the jurisdiction of a particular government or sovereignty. This is why we say that only those under God’s government and sovereignty will God’s law work for. There is no living creature that is not under the sovereignty of God, because He created all things.
Law, torah in Hebrew teaches truth and self-control in order to do right thing. Law, nomos in Greek means to force from an established government. Most time in the scripture, law sometime talks about the compiled or documented word of God. Ps.19:7-11; 119:1ff, Isa.8:28. The five books written by Moses can be referred to as law according to the believe of the Israelites. The five books have been commanded to all kings in Israel to copy for reading and meditation and to make it know to everyone. Deut.6:7; 17:18,19; 31:9-19,26.
The Importance of the law
for sinner to identify sin. Gen.2:16-17
to hinder the sinner from requesting for justification. Ps.51:4, Rom.3:4
to portray someone as a sinner. Gen.2:10
for us to come back to Christ. Ps.19:7; Gal.3:24

Who is the law made for?  1Tim.1:9-10, Gen.31:25-27
The world had once been without the law. Everyone was doing what seems right in his own sight. Many of their deeds were against the will of God for man. This was why God gave the law to be custodian of deeds for mankind. God proposed law because of the spirit of evil and sin which devil had injected into man’s life. God was not interested in man’s destruction because He made him in His own image. God gave the law so that man would be corrected. Instead for man to see the reason why God gave the law, man wearied God with his way of life. There is no time to play with the law because its likeness it’s like a two edged sword.
1Tim.1:8-10, the law was made for the lawless, the ungodly, the sinners and all the disobedience children, for the unholy and for those that engage in all kinds of evil deeds. It is law that reveal sin to everyone. The law cannot save but it can destroy. This is why Jesus came into the world in order to work out salvation through grace. Rom.7:8; Jh.1:17; Rom.3:24-26.
Sin: Romans 7:8
Sin is what the law reveal. [2] sin is the trespass against the law. [3] sin is untruthful. [4] sin is doing against the law. [5] Sin is thought, will and miss-conduct against the law of God. [6] Sin is what is referred to as ungodliness, [7] the practice that is against the nature of God, [8] it’s the going against the law of God. [9] Sin is doing contrary and to over-do things. [10] Sin is going astray from the way of life. [11] Sin is untruthful. The source of sin remains a surprise to everyone. God commanded the children of Israel to make sacrifice as a result of the manifestation of sin. The prophets were sent because of emergence of sin, God likewise sent Jesus to the world for him to die for the remission of sin of everyone. Jh.3:16. Sin is kicking or coming against holiness, righteousness and truth which God required.
The Holy Scripture without count talk about the manifestation of sin, the havoc it has wrought and its kinds. Gen.6:5, Ps.51:5, Mat.15:19, Rom.5:12, Jam.1:14,15, Gal.5:19-21. The kind of sin that flows from Adam is referred to as the source of sin or ‘flesh’. Rom.8:1-2, 1Jh.3:4; 5:17.

Penalty for sinning
Guilt: Rom.1:18-24. The first punishment for sin is guilt. Guilt is the feeling from the conscience whenever man has done contrary against the law of God. Guilt is the feeling of a load type suspected to be on the mind whenever man has done something wrong. Guilt would make someone to judge himself before his time of been judged. Guilt makes it so difficult for someone to forgive himself. Man do bring guilt upon himself before he is judged. Mat.27:4. This will make it difficult to be pleaded not guilty before the judge, for his conscience had judged him before he was to be judged. Guilt came into the heart of Adam and Eve, they judged themselves by hiding and using the fig leaves to cover their nakedness. Gen.3:8.
Condemnation: Job.9:20. It is the outcome of the judgment after man has done one thing or the other. It is the judge that condemned. He will judge based on your transgression. Man cannot do without been condemned whenever he has done contrary to the law of God. After man had condemned himself, (God) the judge will condemn him as the outcome of the judgment. If anyone do contrary against the law of God, he would be condemned. It is advisable if we can do without doing contrary against the law of God, because God is not a man. He will never be partial in judgment. Because He is a faithful judge. Rom.2:11.
Alienation: Gen.3:23, Ps.58:3. Alienation is to release someone into the hand of the devil for torture and frustration. The time to alienate is after God has judged but there is no time to repent. The time of alienation is the period when God don’t interfere or communicate with man. It is the time when mercy, grace, kindness and the truthfulness of God are distance from those that go against the law of God after been judged. Physical alienation, spiritual alienation and eternal alienation are the kinds of alienation we know. [1] Physical alienation is the period when man do not like to stand before a servant of God, so that his secret will not be exposed. [2] Spiritual alienation is when man do not want to stand before God because of the guilt of sin he is carrying in his conscience. [3] Eternal alienation could come after man had been condemned but refuse to come for repentance from his sin. This is what will take him to where he will be eternally alienated to God, I mean hell. 2Kg.5:23-27.
Death: Jer.31:30. Death is one important punishment for sinning. It’s the first punishment that God pronounced as repercussion for disobedience and sinning. Gen.2:17. Death is the wages of sin. Rom.6:23. There is no sinner that would not face death. God does not plan it for man to die. But, sin makes man to die. Physical death, spiritual death, dead to sin, and eternal death in hell are the established death in the scripture. (we shall explain them in the near future). Sin can cut short man’s life span. Sin can send man to hell which is the eternal death. It is your sin that would make you dead before God while your holy living and truthfulness will make you alive before God. Rom.6:11; 8:10.
Reprobation: 2Thes.2:12. Reprobation is when someone continue to do things that are not right. Example of reprobation is when someone sinned and does in continuation without taken to considering what God will do or say about it. Majority of believers are suffering from this spiritual dilemma.  People like this goes to church, using fake zeal for a cover up in order not to be suspicious of them about their evil deed. But if you deceived man, can you also deceive God? Man look at the face but the content of the heart is of the Lord. The better part of it is for us to expose our live unto God. Ps.51:3., and be ready to forsake all our evil deeds, in order to be one among the redeemed which Christ came to die for on the cross. 1Jh.1:8-9.
Hell: 2Thes.1:8. It is the last thing we shall discuss as regards this lesson. Hell is an abode of weeping, an abode of weeping and gnashing of teeth, an abode of total darkness, the ugliest scene of life, a place that is full of fire, a place of regret, a place where there is no forgiveness, the city which God had rejected, and the end point for those who could not obtain forgiveness through the blood of Jesus that flow from Calvary. It will be good if one can think from the depth of his heart never to go to hell. The kind of punishment is beyond description. It is the place of punishment for everyone that fail to repent from their sins. What is that thing in your life that would make you a candidate of hell? It will be good if you can forsake them in order to inherit eternal life. Mk.9:43-48, Lk.16:23-24.

Topic: The Freedom of the Subjugated
Textual Source: Isaiah 49: 24. “Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?”
Introduction: To be unable to give thanks to God shall never be our potion. This is why we are giving thanks anew as regards all the lectures we’ve had so far. Thanks, the delight of the Almighty which man mustn’t share with Him. What exactly do we know that makes God to be delightful of us always? It is very possible for us not to have a definite answer to it, meanwhile, let us thank God for His innumerable blessings over our lives always. I pray that our sweet mouth of praise shall never turn sour in Jesus name. Amen.
In continuation of this lesson, we shall have another thing to discourse on as the spirit of God had giving it to us. I pray for perfect understanding in the heart of everyone in Jesus name. Amen.
A. Captive that worth a freedom
Who is a thrall: He is someone in bondage who cannot set himself free from his captor. (2) A thrall is someone in servitude of a creature like himself but which it’s so difficult for him to escape from its servitude. (3) Enthrallment is to serve under a vigorous power, that proofs difficult to obtain freedom from. (4) A thrall is someone who cannot do things on his own unless there is a preceded permission because he is under such an authority. (5) A thrall is someone who is under a government but not satisfied to be ruled by it. (6) A thrall is booty of the war that is not been killed, instead, he was made to serve vigorously in hardship of which been dead could be preferred to such a ruthless treatment. (7) A thrall is someone who is forcibly subjected. Josh.10:24. Every thrall is made stationary, in order for him not to absconded. The movement or journey of a thrall would never exceed where he is tied. (8) A captive is someone who is bounded by utterance, covenant, might, power and authority. Joseph and Samson were among the thralls found in the Scripture. They were once enslaved but servitude and reasons for bondage were not the same. Foolishness, ignorance and hatred were the reasons for Joseph’s enslavement; while disobedience and sin became reason why Samson went in bondage.
There is no believer that cannot be enslaved in as much he could not abide with the warning and wills of the Holy Spirit.  Adonizedek, Josh.10:3-5;21-26; king of Jerusalem with other four kings did Israel captured and put as a thrall before they were being killed. All these kings were never in anybody’s bondage before Israel captured them. The position you are occupying cannot hinder you from been enslaved. You are the one to take caution in order not to go into thraldom.  (9) A thrall is someone bounded by sin. (10) A thrall is someone whom Devil bounds with sin. Satan has power to bind someone so likewise the sin. It is mostly common for a thrall to be slaughtered. The reason is because his life and death can be determined by the people that put him in thraldom. Whosoever is being bounded by sin is worthy to be killed by the Devil. Such a person is just like a tied goat to be slaughtered in the hand of the Devil. They can be killed anytime there is an order to slaughter from the prey. The Romans soldier would tie their captives to a corpse in olden days which measured a severe punishment at that time. They may even decide never to separate the corpse from their living prey until the death of the captive. This is what Paul thought about when he said who shall deliver me from this body of death? Rom.7:24.
Brethren in the Lord, have you ever thought of the thraldom in which you are into? Sin is bondage to man. Bondage must be broken before ones’ death. Without which, no matter how fervent you are in faith, heaven which is your target would not be accomplished. I pray that, you will not miss that glorious home in Jesus name. Amen. You are still a thrall if you still committing sin. 1Jh.3:8.
The reason for bondage
The land of Israel and the house of Judah went into captivity when they refuse to heed to warnings from the mouth of the prophets, most especially prophet Jeremiah whom God greatly used for them. They moved from the captivity of the Babylonians to the captivity of the Persians. Isa.14:3; Esr.9:8,9; Jer.7:3-8; 52:1-11ff; 26-30. The turn a deaf ear to God who brought their fathers out from the bondage of the Egyptians. Ex.2:23-25.
Why do people go into bondage?
a. Ignorance. Ish.5:13, Prov.4:7: This is a worse scenario which pave way for darkness to afflict the children of God. Many of the so called children of God do not have adequate knowledge about God the creator of heaven and earth, Jesus the son of God who is also God in the flesh and the saviour of the world; and the spirit of God which is the Holy Spirit whom Jesus Christ the son of God controls. Many people died an untimely death for a lack of knowledge on what they are doing. Hos.4:6. Ignorance could make one to suffer in the place where one is not expected to suffer. The secret behind sinning, the danger of sinning still remains an ignorant matter to every sinner. It is impossible for you to make use of what you don’t know. Ignorance, one among the factors that made Adam and Eve his wife to be misled when in the garden of Eden.
Any Christian in conflict with ignorance, will not be free from such a warfare until there would be an eye opening unto the knowledge of truth. There is no justification for someone who does not know what he does as sinful. God does not acclaimed justification for any offence of an ignorant person. God himself does not give room for an ignorant person to be justified in spite of his claim of not been aware his dealings were sinful. Judgement was pronounced against Adam and Eve on what they did despite the fact that they were not known that it would annoyed God up to that extent. This is an advice to everyone, that, if one is ignorant on what he is expected to do or know, he would bear the consequence alone without God saying a word about it. Man would tarry so long in any bondage he ignorantly placed himself. Ignorance that makes someone goes into bondage would make one turn a deaf hear in order not to hear the voice of the saviour whenever he comes. Majority who are facing one battle or the other may likely not be able to come out of it before their inner ear remains deaf, they are still in their state of ignorance. God would never vindicate anyone for his ignorance that led him into captivity. Seek for wisdom, seek for knowledge and seek ye also understanding for the Devil not to capture you with subtlety. Prv.4:5,7.
Disobedience: Disobedience is wilfully pretend not to hear about it. If someone is disobeying, it means he heard about it but he is not in agreement with what had been said so far. Majority of Christian are hearer but not the doer. Rom.2:13. Pitfall, death, failure, oppression, blockage, unsuccessfulness, regret among others characterize the journey of every disobedient child. If someone decide never to believe and accept Jesus, he is disobeying God’s order. Destruction is what God is having ahead for every disobeying child. Prv.29:1. This is why God want us to preach to every one so that they could come out from their mistakes. Whosoever fails to accept it would have himself blamed. Ezk.3:17-21. We that have given our lives to Jesus, it is expected of us to be obedient to God’s command always. So that we would not go into bondage by the reason of our disobeying and kicking against the law of God.
[c]foolishness [d]carelessness; [e]pride; [f]impatience; [g]generational sin [h]failure to heed to warning [i]personal sin; [j]costly mistakes; [k]failure to follow God’s divine directive and instruction; [l]when becoming a victim of defeat.
The law for bound/Bondage-Mark.11:12
T
here is law for bondage. No one can be in bondage by chance. There are ways by which enslavement comes. No one can be a captive without reason. There are many reasons concomitant with been a prey. As we have laws for binding so likewise there are laws for loosing. We shall mention few among the laws for binding in this lecture.
1. Those who are worthy to be in bondage must contravene the law of freedom
2. Power or pretence of the captors must outstrip that of the intending captive.
3. There must be secrecy in idea and steps that would make someone a captive.
4. The captor must be interested in taken or making captives.
5. Every captive must be forced to serve.
6. Danger in captivity and the secret of freedom must be hidden from the captive.
7. Battle must arise against the intending captive for him to enter into bondage or in another way, temptation at the time of comfort could be employed.
8. The captor must be able to bring unrest, chaos and stress into the life of the intending captive.
9. The intending captive must breach the covenant of the freedom he uses.
10. The intending captive must have place himself first in the covenant that would make it so easy for his captor to catch him before he is finally caught.
11. The record of sin against the intending captive is very essential.
12. The captor must be made to offend his redeemer/saviour before he could be taken as a prey.
13. There must be no chance that would create an idea in the heart of the captive to see reason for bondage as a result of a sin of omission.
14. The captive must be made to have hatred against his redeemer/saviour.
15. The offence of the captive must be made multiple and complex in order to make the procedure for redemption a tedious task for his redeemer/saviour.
16. The process of redemption must not be an easy task but it must be a difficult process, tedious, strenuous with hidden covenant.
17. The captor must subtle, tricksy and cunning, in order to be able to rule the captive for a longer period of time.
Who is the Captive that worth delivered?
1. The captive bounded by the law: We have previously defined law as the custodian of actions and deeds. The law is empowered to put someone in bondage. Even though getting salvation is difficult to attain by the use of the law, yet we cannot jettison it no matter how it may be. Whosoever is living under a government cannot do without bowing to the law of the land. If a captive is in bondage, what the law wants is to command respect from everyone. The law is ready to release whosoever is ready to respect him. How can man be free by the law. Law has the ability to set free those who are ready for a change of heart after he(the law) had put them in bondage. You as a child of God could be free today from the bondage which the law has placed you. What you need do is to have a change of heart. But I would like you to know this that; there is no salvation in the law. Efe.2:5,8.
2. The captive bounded by the law of sin: The law of sin can only bind whenever there is contravening against the law of sinning. The law of sin cannot bind you if you have not commit a crime. There are various types of sin. Each of these sins has its own prescribed bondage and punishment. Although, hell has been prescribed as the combine punishment for everyone, yet there is different punishment for each of the sins committed. I want you to understand this, that one is under the bondage of sin does not mean he cannot attain or get freed. There is room for freedom whenever man is ready to forsake sin. Those who are bounded by the law of sin, worth delivered. Once the person is ready to do the right thing.
3. Captive bounded by the law of darkness: Another captive that worth delivered is a captive bounded by the law of darkness. Satan is the head of the kingdom of darkness. He has coordinators and Zonal and regional representatives in every places. The law is known is this government. Mostly, people thought there is no law that guide or needed to be followed in this kingdom, without knowing that, there are countless law in the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness has capacity to bind people that sinned against God and the customary law. Most time, those who are been bounded by the kingdom of darkness, do find it so hard to believe that they are in bondage because they have contravened the law of the kingdom of darkness. It doesn’t matter the kind of the law of the kingdom of darkness that binds you. Jesus came to the world to set you free if you can believe in him with all your heart.
4. The captive agreed to be guilty of the reason for been bound: Most captive don’t always agree of been guilty for the reason why they were in bondage. This shows that they have a heart that never regret for the error committed. A captive of this kind were not expected to obtain freedom. Whosoever agreed to be guilty of the reason why he is in bondage would not stay longer in captivity. This is what we do as Christ disciples whenever we come to God for confession and forgiveness of all our sins. Whosoever does not agree with the reason for his bondage would not like to come to God for confession and forgiveness. Whosoever agreed with the reason why he is in bondage, worth delivered. 1Jh.1:9, Prv.28:13, Ps.32:5.
5. The captive that is ready for release from the bondage that binds him: Anybody in bondage is expected to know that something needed to happen before his release could be achieved. Every captive knows that they needed to take step(s) before their release could be a thing of reality. He that is ready to get freed must be ready to do the next thing that would lead to his total freedom. Zacchaeus climb the tree, Batimaeus cried aloud while the woman with the flow of blood searched for the helm or selvage of Christ’s clothe in the midst of the multitude. Lk.19:4,5; Mk.10:46-49; 5:25-28. Majority of the captives are not mindful, struggle or to take a giant step that would help facilitate their freedom from the bondage in which they are in to. Each bondage has its own escape route, but each of the escape route must be under the auspices of the name of Jesus. Act.4:12.
6. The captive that restitute with his Saviour/redeemer: It has been said earlier in this lecture that before someone could go into bondage, he must first violate the law of freedom. The person that came to save you from bondage is the person that brought or fashioned your freedom. If the captive shattered the person that has come to save him, we also know for sure that such a person would tarry longer than expected in bondage. He that does not want to accept Jesus as his Lord and saviour is the one that is not ready to restitute with his saviour. Their kind do tarry longer than expected in bondage.  If it is made possible, they would live in this bondage eternally. Whomsoever that is ready to restitute with his saviour, is worthy to be set free from slavery. There is no captive that would come out of captivity without the support of his saviour. Restitute today with your saviour, this would help to hasten your release from bondage. Lk.18:21.
7. The justified captive: The kind of justification we are talking about here is to get rid of bondage from someone. If the deliverer untied a captive, such captive shall be acquitted.
8. Captive that obtained mercy: There is no captive been released without him obtaining mercy. There is no how someone in bondage could beg that would make him worth forgiveness. Captive could be free if he had obtained mercy. When someone is guilty, the next thing for him is mercy. The reason why God give room for mercy is because mercy have the power to speak for someone in the place of judgement.
The law of deliverance
Whosoever that would obtain freedom must have these prerequisite according to the law of deliverance:
1. The captive must believe in the redeemer that has come to save him
2. He must see himself as someone who truly is in bondage
3. He must not have dealings or collaboration with those that put him in bondage
4. He must confess all his/her hidden sins
5. He must be ready to become born again after his release from bondage
6. He must not forsake the sacrifice that paved way for his release after been released
7. The captive must love or be interested in freedom. Lk.18:41
8. One has to be in bondage before deliverance could come
9. The captive must be interested and asked for freedom, it must not be done to him without the captive’s interest. Jh.3:16c
10. The captive must have regretted the reason why he goes into bondage before his redeemer came for his release. Lk.15:17-19
11. Freedom must have an authority that back it up. Mk.11:3

The redeemer – Job.19:25, Rev.1:18
The redeemer is the one that have power over the bondage that binds someone. Ps.46:9; 107:14-16. He is the one that have power over the one that put someone in bondage. He has power over the power that binds someone. He was made the item of sacrifice for all people in bondage to get their freedom. He is the one that lives forever. He is the one that said ‘I am the way; I am the truth’. He is the live. He is the true vine. He is the key that opens all the doors. He is the one that possesses all power. After he has fought with death, sin, grave and Satan, he became victorious, all power in heaven and on earth became his. Mat.28:18. In him is life. Jh.1:4. He is the light of the world. The mystery about him is that as many that comes to him, shall never be cast away. Jh.1:12; 6:37. The second mystery is that he gave them power to become sons and daughters of God. The third is that he will take yoke and satanic burden away from off their necks. Mat.11:28-30. The fourth is that he lay down his life for them to have eternal life and total freedom. The redeemer, is the only begotten of God, I mean Jesus Christ. He has become Lord and God to them that believes in him.
B. The captive that does not worth to be delivered
Not all captive that worth delivered. Many of the captive are not worthy to be set free. Not that God was not willing to set them free, but they were not ready or unable to meet up with the condition for their release. How good will it be, brethren in the Lord, for someone to be delivered and to be totally freed. How will someone be in bondage but not qualified to be set free. Let us examine how someone could be deprived a release while in bondage.
1. Captive that goes against or sin against the law of God: Jer.50:7. The law of God is the zenith of all human laws. It is the supreme of all laws, likewise, it goes beyond personal principles. Contravening against the Law of God do put man in bondage beyond thought and imaginations. The consequences of one’s sins can flow up to the fourth generation or even more than that when care is not taken. Ezk.20:5; 37:7, Job.21:19. It is never a good thing for someone to offend God. It was the law of God that man contravened which made them walking naked in the garden. Man do run away from God whenever he offends Him. How will God forgive someone who had sinned which also is on the run away from God? This is why it becoming so hard for man to come for confession and to seek for forgiveness. During the period of running away from God, the enemy would come and fork lift such a one into bondage. There is nothing God can do if anybody is in such a situation, until the person is able to recognize God as the king of kings that reigns over heaven and earth, and who is powerful indeed to forgive iniquities. Dan.4:32. You will continue to be at distance away from God if you continue sinning. Gen.3:8-10.
2. The captive that mocks his deliverer: Lk.22:63-65, Mt.26:67-68, Mk.14:65. During the time of crucifixion of Jesus Christ, many of the inhabitant of Jerusalem were making mockery of Jesus. Before this hour, Jesus had weep sorely over Jerusalem. The reason for his weeping was that he was sorrowful at them because they know not their day of visitation. Mat.23:37-39 cf Lk.13:34-35. They failed to utilize the salvation and deliverance which their deliverer has brought to them, instead, they were mocking Jesus who is their saviour until he was been hung on the cross. Between the time when Jesus was with Pilate to the time he was hanged, the inhabitant of Jerusalem told Jesus, that, you said you have power to destroy the Temple and to rebuild it in three days, how comes you cannot save yourself now? Mk.15:29-32. They were making mockery of their saviour, this action could not help them to receive the salvation which their deliverer has brought to them. This was contrary to what one of the thieves on the cross did, he whom concurred he was guilty of the crime committed. Even though he met with Christ while on the cross, yet he did not look at the ruggedness of the cross, he quickly grabbed the opportunity for saving that comes to him at his dying hour. It would be difficult for someone to obtain salvation from the person he/she mocks unless if the person repents and have a change of heart from mocking the person that would save him. 1Cor.1:25; 3:19; 1:18.
3. Captive that rely on his own strength to make his release: Lk.18: 10-14. Our strength as human does not fit to work out our deliverance. Bondage, yoke, load, anguish and oppression portraits someone to be in bondage whenever its manifest in one’s life. It is very duteous for man to work out how he would be free from the bondage and yoke of his life. Going the way of herbalist or diviner is not the way out from bondage. If one does not make Jesus his right way out of his bondage, it will be impossible for him to be free of yoke and mockery sponsored by generational idols. If any man trust in himself to get himself release, God usually fold hands to watch his untitled drama. Relying on one’s strength has lots of collaboration with self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is believing that your services before God is perfect and supersede that of others in the presence of God. Lk.18:9-14. Self-righteousness does not bring salvation, it does not bring justification, it does not bring healing and more so, God will never win soul through self-righteousness. Ish.64:6. Captive who believes in self-reliance for salvation and self-righteousness for justification, would never obtain freedom from God. Efe.2:8
4. Captive that does not fashioned how he would reconcile with his deliverer: Lk.18:18, Act.16:30-31. Every individual is expected to have way of reconciling with his deliverer. The reason is because, this has been so for so long. If this has not been so, what could have made man a captive if not because there is no more mutual understanding between him and his deliverer. Every captive must reconcile with their deliverer. Although, there has been no time the saviour is happy in respect of how his person became a captive under the kingdom of Satan, but there is nothing the saviour could do because, basically, captive that would go into bondage must first contravene the law of grace which the captive has done already that makes him a captive. Captive that refused to reconcile with his saviour, does not worth to be delivered. Jer.7:3; 26:13, Rom.5:10, 2Cor.5:18,20; Efes.2:16, Col.1:21-24.
5. Captive that is ready to connive with the band of captors that bind him: Many captives do multiply their bondage. Whenever some sinned or maybe they mistakenly find themselves in a particular problem or the other, they will be seen going occultly with intention of having a breakthrough through it. Having relationship with band of the captors would never yield a good interest, instead, it would add more sore to injury. It is never good for captive to be associated with the band of captor that binds him. It is never an escape route. Instead, let him go back to his redeemer, whom he has done contrary to his law.
6. Captive bounded by a kingdom that overpower him: All captives are under a government that overpowered them. The kingdom they serve is never seen as a comfort zone. It is full of torment and duress. The kingdom of darkness is a kingdom more powerful than man could imaging. There is no man that is capable of overcoming this kingdom unless the saviour has given someone his power of salvation. But if the captive is interested in saving by his own strength from this kingdom, he would stay in bondage forever if care is not taken. Eccl.4:1.
7. Captive that is interested in his bondage, who does not seek for a release from his captivity: Majority of captives were seen to be pleased with their servitude. It is reprobation that is believed to be responsible for it. Hos.4:6. When the captive does not have rest of mind, he will love his servitude to the extent that, he will be ready to combat those who have come to deliver him, not minding shedding blood. It has always been so difficult to deliver such a captive. The reason is because he doesn’t care neither did he sees himself been in bondage. Until such captive comes out of this mortal body that is when he would be having a better understanding of wickedness he had done against his own life. Rom.1:28-32, Ish.5:13, Jh.3:18,36.
8. The captive that refused to confess his sin and make amendment: The hidden place where sin hid is the heart. Job.11:13; 15:12, Dan.5:22, Obad.1:3, Act.5:3,4; 8:22. There is no place in the heart which the saviour did not know no matter how it is. Two were they that was on the cross with Jesus, it was only one that exposes his sins in the place where it was been hid, while the gate of salvation was locked against the other who doesn’t want to reveal the sins which he had committed, forgetting that the saviour knows everything about his heart. The saviour made readiness saving him that opened up his hidden part of his heart while the gate of salvation was shut against people that would not be ready to reveal the hidden part of their heart. Prov.28:13. The saviour does not save someone who doesn’t make his sins known. Such a people are duplicitous in his sight. Do not hid your sins. Uncover it in the place where the saviour would see it, so that he would prepare for your way out of the predicament in which the afflicter has put you, and more so, for you to be a partaker of the deliverance process which he has made for everyone.
9. Captive that reject atoning sacrifice for his release: Jh.15:13, 1Jh.3:16. Atoning sacrifice, atoning sacrifice is the sacrifice which the saviour offered by himself in order to save the captive from thraldom and duress. Sacrifice is an establishment to settle dispute in-between two great warriors. It can uphold or destroy covenant. The atoning sacrifice which the saviour offered was meant to destroy the covenant of sin and that of the Devil that has to do with the captive and to establish his covenant of freedom in the life of the captive for him to have a total freedom. Jh.14:27. If anyone reject the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross, he has rejected the offer of atoning sacrifice of his freedom from his captivity. How profitable will it be to man, if all would appreciate and make use of the death and resurrection of Jesus, for them to be free from the Devil and the forces of hell. Failure to make use of the atoning sacrifice, would not let those that reject it to access freedom from the power of the oppression of sin which the Devil is using to afflict them. Jh.3:36.
My comment: Examine yourself. Which among the captive are you? The captive that worth deliverance or the captive that does not worth delivered? If you worth to be delivered, how good it is. But are you ready to be free from Satan and his cohort? You are expected to leave sinning and make Jesus your saviour. There is regret ahead for every captive that does not worth to be delivered. Jesus can set you free, only you need do is to believe. How pleasant it is to be at freedom. Make sure you are out of everything that hinders you, which also makes you to continue sinning. I am very sure that; genuine salvation shall be yours in Jesus name. Amen.
Shalom!
Topic: Gift of Holy Spirit and Christian virtue (good character)
Textual Source: II Peter.1:8; “For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Introduction: There is goodness in showing appreciation. This is the reason why we will not cease to give thanks to God, in whom there is all goodness, wonders, rest of mind, healing, uplifting and deliverance. As He is always counting us worthy to strive to become perfect according to His will towards us.
The inspiration of God that makes one to understand His words, will come into our live today in Jesus name. so likewise, I pray for God to fill our heart with His Holy Spirit, for us to be able to run our race with holiness, truth and righteousness. Amen
We need to vividly look at today’s lesson and listen attentively, so that it will make us alive and worthy for heaven.
Gift of Holy Spirit 1Cor.12:1ff
Gift of Holy Spirit is the combination of endowment which God uses to work in the Church and to coordinate those that possess Him (the Holy Spirit) in their live. Gift of Holy Spirit is implement of the Holy Spirit, which the Holy Spirit gives believers to trade with in order to gain into the kingdom of God. 1Cor.12:7. Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father, which Christ the son of God controls. Jh.14:16,26. This is the Holy Spirit that has been from the Beginning, which moves upon the vapour of water when He has no place of rest. Gen.1:2. What Holy Spirit cannot do is what God cannot do. Since there is nothing God cannot do, so likewise, there is nothing the Holy Spirit cannot do. The Holy Spirit gives gifts to man, for man to use it to save someone like himself. Whomever God gives the gifts of the Holy Spirit, this does not make him/her greater or better than others. 1Cor.12:11. Contrary to some that thought because they were privileged to receive one or more of the Spiritual gift. They would think or behave as if because they are wise or knows how to pray and fast, that is why God gave them the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The gift of the Holy Spirit is for every believer. God did not have favourite as regards the gifts. Although there are prerequisite for man to meet before one would be able to receive any of the gift of the Holy Spirit. It would be given in accordance to the mind of God, in accordance to the capacity and strength of the person after God have weighed the person who is to be given. Mat.25:15.
There is diversity in the gift of the Holy Spirit, yet, these gifts are doing the same work or we can even say they are having the same target. In human’s understanding, they look different, but in God’s view, they are all the same. 1Cor.12:6. Majority of Christian have been privileged from the gifts. They make use of them in Churches and everywhere. That one is possessed of the gifts of the Holy Ghost does not make one a candidate of heaven. No, not at all! The gift of Holy Spirit is a sign that one had submitted himself to be used for the service of God. God wishes to use man whenever someone have submitted himself to be used for the service of God. The gift of the Holy Spirit is not meant for self-glorification. The gift of Holy Spirit is not for the purpose of having many tittles. The gift of Holy spirit is not for proudness. Likewise, it is not meant for wealth accumulation and priding.
What God want from people that had received the gift is to make use of it to multiply the number of people that are going into the kingdom of God. So likewise, the gift is meant to proclaim Jesus as the saviour and redeemer of the world. But making use of the gift is the most important before God. Mat.25:27. Majority of people thought that receiving of the gifts is the most necessary, after it has been received, to make use of it becomes difficult task for them. Most time, those who are privileged to receive the gift would want God to come and beg them before using the gift. Many do turn the gift to an avenue of accumulating riches, from where they would feed their belly, without looking at what God would say or do as regards their mismanagement of the gift. Act.8:18-20.
We see some Christians who don’t even care so much about the gift of the Holy Ghost which they possess. The reason why they did not care about it is because, God did not give them the kind of gift they thought would be given to them. And they would because of this quench the fire of the gift without using it. Do you know that it is when you are using the gift that you are actually trading with the gift? 2Tim.1:6; 1Tim.4:14. It is compulsory for every Christian whom God has given one gift or the other, to trade and have gain with the gift. What has been your gain since God has giving you the gift of the Holy Spirit? Strive to use the gift which God has giving to you, for you to have great reward in the kingdom of God. (look for our lecture titled Gift of Holy Spirit for better explanation).

Controlling Spiritual Gift Through Virtues (Good Character) 1Pet.1:5-11
Good character is the product of one’s life.  Good character is what we have seen in the life of someone and in our lives too. Good character is the passage into our lives for others. It’s what will make people to know whom you are. Good character reveals what is in us. It is doing what is right without going against the law. Good character reveal what you are inside which no one knows about it. Good character most time enhance uplifting and success. Good character does not mean to be wealthy. Most time people with good character may not have riches and wealth if compare with their counterpart who does not. The reason is because they don’t like to do what will tarnish their image in the society. Majority of people may be pretending as if they are of good character, but as times goes on, their secret would be revealed. Everyone would know that they are pretending. They are not what they said they are.
Majority of those who possesses the gift of Holy Spirit does not have good character. Many of those who possesses the gift of Holy spirit have no trace of good character in their live. Majority who have the gift of Holy Spirit are in possession of bad character. The fruit which their live bears does not good at all. Majority who have the gift of the Holy Spirit does not have any sign of good character that would help them to excel through their gifts. Mat.5:16; Gal.5:22:23.
It’s of a truth that one needs to possess the gift of the Holy Spirit. If it is possible for someone to have all the gift, it is a welcomed idea. But few among us that have received the gift of the Holy Spirit lack good character to maintain the gift. Who among us is Christ like in displaying good character. Of a truth, we all respond whenever we were being referred to as Christian. Do we truly have the character which we can be likened to Jesus? Do we truly have good character which we can be termed as Christian? Act.11:26.
It displeased God whenever people failed to use good character to control or manage the spiritual gift in their live. Without the use of good character to maintain spiritual gifts, there would be no gain for us as workers in the Lord’s vineyard. Without mincing word, God is expecting everyone to be like Himself.  This means, we must be a type of Christ. Our behaviour must be like that of Christ. We must be in control of our heart and our body as did Christ when He was physically alive. Eph.5:1-2.
What is in the life of some Christians are so bad. They are corrupt from within. They live a hypocritical Christian life. Phip.1:27. The good character they claimed to have is a pretence. Very soon they would display their true character that would surprise everyone. God would have elevated majority of the Christians beyond their present position. But for lack of good character, for not adding virtues with the spiritual gifts in their live, hinders God from making them to be what He purposed for them in His presence.
Gift of Holy spirit without good character, is like a lit candle stick walking in the rain. It is known for sure that it would quench within a short time. This would make the candle to become darkness even unto itself. You as a Christian, a true disciple of Jesus, you need to display good character. You need to behave well. You must be Christ like in displaying good character.
If you have truly receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, let your good character be seen as people sees your spiritual gifts. Remember that, it is not the gift of Holy spirit that first came into your life, it is good character. Why is it that spiritual gift manifest in your life while good character does not? It is expected that your good character manifest as does the spiritual gifts. The gift of Holy spirit would reveal how God uses you while good character would reveal your importance, your usefulness and your kind before God and man. I am appealing to everyone to reform your character so that your gift would bear much fruit. If one’s character is destroyed, it would serve as hindrance for his gift to have much harvest before God.  2Pet.1:5ff; Php.4:8ff.
Adamic Nature: Contender of God’s Gift and Good Character Romans.8:7-8
Adamic nature is the way of life of one’s progenitor which do manifest in the life of people from such family or race. Adamic nature is a living creature that lives in the vein of people that comes from such generation, family or race. Many who have the gift of the Holy Spirit today do have Adamic nature that pedals them. Adamic nature would make people to quickly identify which of the race you come from, your family background or the kind of name you bear. Adamic nature would make you to be a kind of your fore-fathers. Since one has character like that of his progenitors, no for sure that he would not be able to perform excellently than his progenitors.
This is one important thing I want you to know. Adamic nature, it lives in the vein while good character lives in the heart or mind. It is from the heart that man would think whether to do evil or to do good. It seems easier to control what comes out from the heart than to control what comes from the vein. Since Adamic nature comes from the vein, it is so easy for Adamic nature to suppress good character. By findings, we were made to understand that Adamic nature is an in-born phenomenon while one is to make request before he/she would have any of the spiritual gift. Adamic nature have spread its net in the lives of most Christians, it hinders them from experiencing the awesomeness of God in their live. Eph.4:21-24.
Adamic nature is a hindrance to manifestation of spiritual gifts. it does not give chance for spiritual gift to be useful in the life of someone. Adamic nature can make you to have more desire in the pleasure of the world than the things of the Spirit. So likewise, it can make someone to be a stumbling block regardless of the presence of spiritual gift in his/her life.
This lecture came to us so that we can restructure and reconsider on how we use the gift of Holy Spirit which God has given to us. Some Christians’ Adamic nature could not allow them to win more souls for God. The reason is because, people that would have repented through them viewed that the gift of Holy Spirit in their live does not fit the kind of life style they live. Would you also not ready to make amendment to that Adamic nature that kicks against the purpose of spiritual gifts in your life? Examine yourself, you will see the Adamic nature which makes you a kind of your progenitor. Do you know that if this attitude still present in your life, it would serve as hindrance against you before God and man? Adamic nature must leave your life. If you don’t look for means to get rid of it, it would hinder you from attaining the glorious home. Weeping and gnashing of teeth awaits every Christian whose character seems not welcomed. Weeping and gnashing of teeth awaits every Christian that enjoys the reign of Adamic nature in his life.  Jesus can do it and He can set you free from the entanglement of Adamic nature. Deliverance of mind from the spirit and entanglement of one’s progenitor character is the kind of prayer you need. Pray hard. God would set you free in Jesus name. Mat.7:7-8.    Shalom.
Topic: The Perfect Man
Textual Source:  Genesis 17:1” And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”
Introduction: Our creator and Lord, most high Redeemer and the Holy one of Israel is the one that is due of our praises as He has counted us worthy to be a living up to this moment and as He has counted us worthy among the living souls, forever we shall continue to praise you.
No one can receive anything unless it is giving to him from heaven, this is the reason why we believed that the gift of God for this generation and for our life is what this lecture is, to direct us in our pilgrimage on this earth and to make us worthy and perfect with God. God is in need of our perfection. This is why He is admonishing us to be perfect before Him always.
My prayer is that, great understanding from heaven that would enhance our relationship with God, is what God would give to us today in Jesus name. Amen.

Abraham: the forerunner of perfection: Genesis 17:1
Perfection is to be without complain. Being perfect is to have all what it takes to become something. Being perfect is to be weighed and becomes balanced in the sight of the one that weighed you. Being perfect makes you to become someone to be proud of. God also likes to be proud of His perfect men before the Devil, although this may make Satan to add to his temptation and challenges in his Christian race. Job.1:7-12. God called Abram out of Ur of Chaldees. After the death of Terah his father, Abram went down to Egypt before he later came up again to the place where he built an altar between Bethel and Hai. Gen.12:1-10; 13:1-4.
It was when Abram was ninety-nine that God told him one important thing that He needed from him. Abram has been a friend of God but he was not perfect neither did he worthy on God’s balance for his life. God promised Abram that if he could try to be perfect, His(God) covenant would come upon him to make him great on earth. It doesn’t matter your age, what God needs from you is to be perfect. Not just a mere perfection but perfect act in all things. Physical and spiritual perfection. He that cannot becomes perfect, it will be impossible for him to please God.
Today, we see Abraham as the pioneer of faith, he did not dispute with God when God said He(God) wants to see him in His(God) own perfection. The kind of perfection that God needs from Abraham is not the perfection like that of Terah his father, it is not like that of Enoch the righteous man that lived before Abraham. Neither did God ask him to be perfect like Noah the brave preacher that preached throughout the world in his days. But God asked for perfection a kind of His from Abraham.  We see Abraham as model in God’s perfection. Gen.5:24; 6:9; 17:1.
God wants us to always be without blemish in His presence. This is why He wants us to be perfect in His sight. Our age, whom we are and what we are in the society or in the church has no meaning. We must be conscious of our being perfect. Let’s get set this time to become perfect before God, for us to be worthy of all that God is having for us. Eccl.12:1-5.

Perfection: Jesus called for it  Matthew 5:48
Majority of people believed it is not easy to be perfect before God. God would never place an impossible task before man. Because God is not interested in the fall of man no matter how. Man most time think that is it possible for him to do the task which God has placed before him? Whereas, people who have done more than that can be found in the Bible.
When Jesus came, the ten commandment which Moses gave the children of Israel was on ground. As good these laws were, Israel was unable to meet the reason for the commandment. Jesus in His preaching buttress it that we need to be perfect before God. Jesus a person without blemish while in the flesh, did not use His life in the flesh as yardstick for anybody. He made us to know that God want us to become perfect before Him always. What is that thing in your life that make you unworthy? this is where you need correction without delay.  We cannot do without walking perfectly if it is true that we want to see God. There is no how man would enter into the kingdom of God without being perfect. The kingdom of God is meant for only the perfect. It is our life that we need to check and correct everything that needed to be corrected. Majority of Christian are living in dirtiness before God. No matter the level of moral decadence in our world, Noah was seen as the only righteous of his days. Why is it that God cannot see us as the only righteous in this our own generation? If the ancient people were able to keep the simple and the difficult commandment, we of this generation has no reason to complain and for not been able to at the level were God expect us to be. A young rich man wanted to be perfect but he cannot do it neither can he endure Christ’s measure for perfection. Mat.19:21-24. Whosoever that does not follow Christ prescribed measure to become perfect, he would not be able to enter into the kingdom of God. Every soul that would go in to the paradise must be perfect. Are you perfect? Rev.21:27.

Way to perfection Colossians.4:12
We cannot become perfect if Christ did not perfect us. There is need for some qualifications, weapons and some steps to take as Christians. If man would be perfect before God, what are the things that needed to happen in his life as a good Christian:

Becoming perfect in our utterances: Jms.3:2. What comes out from our mouth is very important. Majority of people did not know we shall receive judgment on everything we have ever said. Mat.12:37. We shall give account of all filthy words which has ever comes out of our mouth on the day of judgment. How profitable will it be if you and me would change our utterances apart from evil utterances, curses, jesting, mocking, uncensored funny utterance, abuse and the like that comes from our mouth. We must be perfect n utterance as a good Christian.  It is in this that we can become perfect before God. Majority of people do not know how to bridle their tongue. There is nothing that cannot be said. They would never care to know God’s reaction to their utterances. Be careful of your mouth, be careful of your utterance so that you can become perfect before God.

Worshipping God with our substance: Mat.19:21. Some people find it difficult to serve God with their substance, they only ant God to attend to their request, they wouldn’t want to work for God with their substance. Prv.3:9,10. When we bless God with our substance that is when God will bless us in abundance. Ananias and Sapphira were not being faithful in the days of the Apostles. Because of their insincerity on what God gave to them, this led to their untimely death. Abraham received precious thing from God after he had fed just three men with a whole cow. In man’s view, is this not too much? But because Abraham knew he would be rewarded, he willingly uses it for them. Whosoever that will be perfect before God must learn how to do for God without hiding any percentage. We must not be stingy in the presence of God.

Love: Colossians.3:14. Love that makes one perfect is a kind of love that would not look at the mistake but a kind of love that came to being without reason. Without love, man would be like an instrument without music sound. 1Cor.13:1-8. Whosoever does not have perfect love, a kind that God had towards the earth that prompted Him to give His only begotten to the world for the remission of their sins, will not enter the kingdom of God. Man becomes perfect from the heart when true love is displayed.

Patience: James.1:4. God always wanted His children to be patient in whatever they want to do. God is not interested in rascality as some thought of it. Moses was among the people whose life of persevering. Job also was inclusive. With all things that happens to him, he refuses to mock God. Impatience is one of the reason why people mock God. In troubles and temptation, a good Christian must be able to control himself, and be able to stand until God talk on the issue he had at hand.

Good work: James.2:14-26. Our works as Christians are the duties we carry out in the service and in Christ fold. Majority of Christian do not have work because they thought it not necessary since they have believed there is no need for them to have work again. Our work is as important before God as our faith.  God wants us to do well in our Christian race that would make us receive reward in the kingdom of God. He that does not work, would have no reward in the glorious home. Therefore, let us have good works so that we can have reward in the kingdom of God.

Obedience: 1John.2:5; Isah.1:19. Obedient of a perfect man commences on the law of Moses. Majority of people thought that Christ came to abolish the law of Moses, not knowing that Jesu did not come to abolish mosaic law but He came to established them. If you are a kind that does not heed to the commandment of God, he would maintain a very low level in the presence of God. We need to heed to whatsoever the Lord is telling us whether in the dream or in His words from the ministers of God.
Note: living a faithful and righteous life is among the way by which we can become perfect before God. We must also walk in holiness before Him always.

A model perfectionist: Matthew.5:48
No one can become perfect unless he is ready to see God as model. God is the only model which His word prescribed for us. We are not to look at any one as our role model. We may see someone as example but not that the person would become our role model of our perfection. Because according to the nature of man, the perfect man today may become imperfect and unworthy tomorrow. But of God, He is always perfect. there is no problem that can confront God that would make Him imperfect. This is why you cannot make man your role model of perfection as Christian.
Jesus made it clear that our perfection must be a replica of that of God in attitude and character. If we are trying to be like man, man is full of deceit.
Majority of people will be trying to copy behaviour of some of their members in Christ fold. Many of whom they copy are not on the same tract with God. Truly they are doing things the way it should be done, but man sees the out ward appearance but God look at the heart. There is no one that is worthy to be our model of perfection except God. In this we can become perfect.
When a Christian does not have the Spirit of God in himself, how would he be like God? How are we going to become perfect? we cannot make God our model if we have not His spirit in us, which is the Holy Spirit. He is the one that would help us to see God as our pattern in all things. May God grant us power to become perfect in Him in Jesus name. Amen.
